In 1968, my journey led me to the stunning west coast of Rincon, Puerto Rico, a renowned surfing haven. I revisited this coastal gem in 1970, residing there for several months with fellow surf enthusiasts. When I returned once more in 2008, I was struck by the timeless beauty of this place, as if time had stood still.

Over the course of five awe-inspiring days, I found myself seated on the untouched, desolate beach, captivated by the crystal-clear aqua surf gently rolling onto the shore. My gaze was drawn to the magnificent coconut trees that lined the beach, resiliently clinging to the sandy soil as the rains came and washed away the very foundation beneath them. The intricate details of the bark and the elegant angle of the palm fronds were too compelling to resist, and I knew I had to immortalize this natural wonder on canvas. Introducing ‘3 Palms of Rincon,’ an original watercolor masterpiece by the talented artist Eileen Seitz, measuring a substantial 28 inches by 22 inches. This unframed artwork encapsulates the grandeur and enduring beauty of the Rincon coastline, paying tribute to the resilient coconut trees that adorn its shores.
