Eileen Seitz was born on Manhattan Island, New York, and grew up immersed in its vibrant cultural and artistic diversity. She began painting at the age of 8 and won her first award at 13. At 16, she sold her first painting to a New York art dealer. Eileen studied Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
In 1966, a trip to Puerto Rico exposed her to the simplicity and beauty of nature, which became a major influence on her work. In 1968, she moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, where the tropical environment and its vibrant colors deeply inspired her.
Eileen has traveled extensively, drawing inspiration from places like St. Lucia, Fiji, Spain, and Italy. She paints large oil canvases with the intention of drawing the viewer into the scene, connecting them with nature’s life force. Her work seeks to create a deep, personal connection between the viewer and the spirit of nature.
