Exhibition- One woman show – 1990 Mango Tango, St. Thomas USVI

Painter Eileen Seitz will open a month long exhibition at Mango Tango with a reception in her honor tonight.
 From now until Dec 30, original watercolor and oil on canvas works by the New York native will be on display.
Until now only limited edition prints and posters were available on St. Thomas. This show will
offer original paintings for the first time in the Virgin Islands. Seitz said that more tha 30 pieces will be “reflections”of the places I have lived. Those places include Central America, Jamaica, Antigua and St. Lucia. Also a special collection of 12 paintings of her stays on St. Thomas will be featured. Born in midtown Manhattan Seitz won her first painting award at the age of 13. At 16 she sold her first oil painting to a NYC  Gallery. 
Following her schooling at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY she followed her Caribbean inspiration
to St. Thomas. The exhibition presents the opportunity to relect on Eileens gift of capturing the
essence of the Caribbean tropical vistas and panoramic street scenes said Jane Coombs, owner
of Mango Tango. ” Each painting is a Vibrant Celebration of the Caribbean.”
Locally Seitz has prints at A. H. Riise Art Gallery. Her works also hang in galleries from Kauai Hawaii, Germany. Kahn Gallerieson Kauai Hawaii and Poster Gallerie in Germany feature her works as do Galleries in St. Maarteen,the Cayman Islands, Bahamas and Florida.
